What is Economic Development?

Development measures how much of society benefits from economic growth or progress. We have lots of terms to classify a country's development for example: Developed and developing

The term third world has been hijacked to represent something it was never meant to

Indicators of development

Gross Domestic product: The monetary value of all the finished goods and services produced within a country's borders in a specific time period, though GDP is usually calculated on an annual basis.

GDP is used as a measure to see how much money the companies that make the products make when people buy the product and seeing what their sales are like for them.
HDI is a tool used developed by the United Nations to measure and rank countries.

Has our national obsession hijacked centenary commerations of the great war

I don't believe that we as a nation celebrating the war and remembering people dying is a very good way of moving this nation forward. But i do believe that celebrating ANZAC Day has been ill affected. We celebrate by having a minute of silence. As well as that Australia spends more then any other country due to Australia trying to make Anzac Day bigger and better each year. Our National Identity is now reflected by celebrating Anzac Day and our military.

ANZAC Day

This is a post about Anzac Day

Poem

I believe that Bruce Dawes used AFL football to explore the human life cycle to the fact that when your born you follow a team from birth and how the AFL ladder is like going up to heaven and the using of the demon and Saints. I don't think this would work with another sport due to the sports being somewhat similar to each other. Carn is a Australia way of saying come on at the footy when the team is doing poorly.
